Family .:. Stephanie & Audrey : A Homesteading Story

.:.

I love these two ladies.  A lot!  And I miss them dearly.  I had to say goodbye to more friends when we moved back across the country to Washington from North Carolina.  That is ALWAYS the hardest part of moving.  Saying bye for now to good friends.

Before we left, I did a quick shoot for Stephanie and Audrey.

Stephanie is amazing.  She is doing the single parent thing while building a sustainable lifestyle.  She is making her own little homestead…all on her own.  She has chickens and now a pig, some cats and a dog.  She’s growing a garden, building her own fences, planting her own fruit and nut trees.  Some days she makes fairy houses with Audrey so that they have a place to stay.  It’s so much to look up to.  I hope Audrey knows that she always has a hero in her mama.  She’s one strong lady and definitely someone to look up to.

I know I do.

She’s also just one of those people that is genuine and glows from the inside.  She’s easy to be around and so much fun.  Plus, she and her daughter are gorgeous.

She’s one of those once in a lifetime friends that comes along and you know she will always be there and who truly loves you for everything that you are.

Sob…I miss you Steph!

This is Stephanie and Audrey’s story.

We finally made it to Hot Springs and of course I wanted to photograph our new neighbors.  This is Ken, Beryl and Everett.  =)

We moved to Hot Springs sight unseen because Beryl posted that the house next door to her became available on Instagram.  She and I totally hit if off over the phone and we became fast friends.

For months she sent me photos and videos and all the information that she could think of about the area to help make the transition to Hot Springs easier for us.

When we pulled up to our new home, I went to her house first.  It was like seeing long lost friends again, even though we were really meeting in person for the first time.

I’ll be posting more about our move out here and details out the new place we call home on my personal blog, The Indie Homestead.

For now, here are our beautiful new neighbors.

We love them and couldn’t be happier!

XOXO

There are some sessions that just amaze you and remind you of why you love being a photographer.

The model.

The light.

The location.

The energy.

Sometimes they all just line up and you end up with a shoot like this one.

I love this girl and I can’t believe she’s graduating!  It was unbelievably special to take her senior portraits.

There are even a few of she and her momma, who is my soul sister.

This is Mia’s story
